The Department of Energy just announced a $100,000 "Apps for Energy" contest that is awarding prizes for the best web/mobile applications that use a featured dataset, standard or idea.
To support this contest, we're holding a hackathon at the 1776 space in Washington, D.C.
At the hackathon, you'll be able to learn about the featured datasets, find a team to work on an app with, and start building an app you'll be able to submit to the Contest. We will have prizes for the best demo at the end of the day, and teams will be encouraged to keep working on their idea for submission to the Apps for Energy Contest by March 9.
